You've got tremendous talent and your work on Ghibli is breaking new ground I'm excited to say. Nonetheless, I'm very glad you're moving away from the sometimes too clever for its own good minimalism you're known for. Is there any work you've been offered where you just said 'no, I don't want to do this'? Most artists work seems to suffer tremendously when they haven't seen the movie, Stout being probably the most obvious example where you can tell what movies are a labor of love and which.well, aren't. I understand you're incredibly limited by what the studio will allow, but all of TDK prints for all 3 of the movies I've seen range from tremendous garbage to 'eh'.
Some of your stuff I absolutely love (Your Ghibli work is top notch, I need to stop farting around and pick up your There Will Be Blood and I just dropped $900 on your Evil Dead), some stuff I think is alright but commands a cartoonish price now ($4k for the Star Wars stuff that frankly Stout did a better job), and some stuff is just.ugh. You've always been a very.I don't know how to say this without sounding like a total twat, so I'll just say it a hit or miss artist. Which ones are embarrassing? Just curious.
